Product Requirements Document: Unlonely Adventures
Unlonely Adventures connects individuals seeking companionship for outdoor activities, addressing loneliness through shared adventures and genuine connections.
As the product manager for Unlonely Adventures - semester-long course project, I led the development of a social adventure platform designed to connect solo travelers through shared experiences. The project aimed to combat loneliness by facilitating group-based outdoor activities.
Our team focused on creating a user-friendly interface with secure registration, detailed profile management, and dynamic adventure group listings. Users could create profiles, set preferences, and find groups based on interests and locations. Real-time chat functionality was integrated to enhance communication within groups and foster community building.
The project involved several critical phases: concept validation, prototype development, internal testing, and a staged launch strategy. Extensive market research was conducted to understand our target demographics, including young professionals, solo travelers, and retirees. This informed our design principles, ensuring the platform catered to their specific needs.
As the product manager, I coordinated cross-functional teams, managed timelines, and mitigated risks. I facilitated regular team meetings, tracked progress against milestones, and ensured alignment with the product's vision. Post-launch, we planned continuous updates based on user feedback, expanding language options, and enhancing features to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
The successful execution of this project provided a platform for solo travelers to connect and share adventures, demonstrating the importance of user-centric design and meticulous project management in developing a product that meets both user needs and business goals.
